Acne
Acne is a non-infectious inflammatory disease caused by the overproduction of sebaceous glands. They are stored at the hair root. Usually, this production protects the skin from dryness and external influences, but overproduction can clog the outlet of the sebaceous gland and multiply the bacterium Propionibacterium acnes. This process subsequently leads to inflammation. In acne, closed comedones (white) and open comedones (black) are formed, later they are filled with pus, and the most striking manifestations are formed by nodes. If the disease is not treated, it leaves scars, so it is more appropriate to start treatment right from the beginning. The formation of acne is most pronounced during puberty, but as in this period as well as at other times, we must not forget the possibility of an internal disease, which is important to rule out. Most often, it can be inflammation in the stomach area, in the ear-nose-throat area, teeth and gums, or in women also gynecological inflammation. Both local and general preparations are used in therapy. Locally, most often benzoyl peroxide, ezealic acid, tretinoin, antibiotics, and generally antibiotics or isotretinoin are used.
